Take
Apart Science!
Students
learn first hand about the scientific process, they follow the scientific
process from making a hypothesis to forming conclusions. The class
includes activities to help children learn the difference from making
observations to understanding inferences. Then students are asked to bring
in an item that is mechanical in nature and learn what makes it tick. What’s
inside a telephone, camera, clock or radio? How do they work and what
makes them tick? What can I do with the parts and what new thing can I
create? It’s time to take it apart and find out! Students will learn
first-hand in this inquiry-based science class to predict, explain, guess,
diagram and learn how today’s gizmo’s and gadgets function. Students
bring their take apart item in a box they can use for transport.
Additionally, they will also need a set of small tools: screwdrivers,
