The
SAT covers:
•Mathematics: You will be tested on concepts up to and including Algebra II. You will be expected to know geometry, statistics, simple arithmetic, probability and exponential growth.
More emphasis upon tangent lines, exponents and linear functions have made
some sections challenging. Function calculators are permitted.
•Writing: This involves grammatical multiple choice, reading comprehension and questions dealing with sentence construction. Students also are required to write an essay on a specific
topic responding to a quote usually. The essay is 25 minutes.
•Critical Reading (formerly Verbal): Focuses upon completion of sentences, reading comprehension and vocabulary. There are short and long reading passages. Test takers are asked to select the
best as it states, the "most" correct, idea concerning a word, idea or phrase in the
passage.
